Took in recycling and marked more stuff for rummage sale

May 14th, 2012 at 02:44 am

We took in our pop cans...30lbs at .50 per lb = $15.00. So we will put that $15 towards the mortgage principle for June.

DH brought a bunch of misc science supplies from his classroom that are outdated and no longer needed. I marked those up for the rummage sale. They were all little old things (thermometers, funnels etc.) so only marked for .10 to $1.00. DH is happy to be getting things cleaned out.

My Dad's wife gave me a bunch of clothes that she was planning on taking to goodwill and said I could mark them and keep the profit if I wanted. So I will try to get them marked sometime this week.

I have been looking for some little science supplies for experiments with my daughter... wish I was closer and I would take some of those things off of your hands! It's nice to have some insurance that stuff you don't need any more can lead to a sale because others will indeed need it. Wink Good luck with the rummage sale!

Thanks Jerry! I was surprised at the demand for little plastic funnels! We sold all 14 individual funnels for .10 a piece. Also sold 2 bags of mini funnels for .50 a piece and a bag of thermometers for $1.00. Happy with that considering DH was just going to toss them to get them out of the clutter!
