When I was checking out I had 2 more items that totaled $9.78 pre-tax, and I used $3.75 worth of coupons on the items. I ended up deciding not to get them, so the cashier deleted them from the transaction, but never took off the coupons, so I still got $3.75 off my total for items I didn't purchase. I also used a $10 off $50 purchase coupon from CVS....so I came out WAY ahead on actual out of pocket cost today.

Tampax(1) $1.49
Always/Tampax Set(3) +.03 Money Maker
Dawn(4) .96
Revlon Nail Clipper(3) +.93 Money Maker
Revlon Emory Boards(15) $1.35
Coupons for items not purchased +$3.75
$10.00 off $50.00 Purchase Coupon +$10.00
Total = $10.91 Profit on transaction!!!!!
Plus if I sell the Tampax kits and Revlon items I will make another $30.75!!! Smile SCORE!

I definitely want to try to get more of the Revlon items. I will go in later this week and get a rain check since they didn't have many in store.

20 coupons, really? Going back to get more rain checks? Really? Maybe you should donate the tampons instead of trying to sell them. I really think that its people like you who ruin the couponing system. Gluttony at its finest.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not sure how you feel the couponing system is ruined? Please explain how it is ruined?? Everyone has access to the same coupons and sales, being smart and combining them together to save money for my family is something that makes me proud. I am happy that I have found a hobby that helps support my family and helps us meet our financial goals. I will continue to do so to my best ability. I also am active in donating, if you read through my blog entries you will see that I do donate many items to friends and family. As you noted above, I started with 20 coupons, but I only got 13 juices. The other 7 were donated to family and friends. I make donations through the year through my favorite charities, I am also a Gold Blood Donor and participate in children's charities through my husbands school. I just don't feel the need to post about every donation or charitable act I do.
My blog is my families journey to save money and to payoff our house. We will do things like cut coupons, buy in bulk and watch for sales to do this. If that is offensive to you then you should probably not be reading a money saving blog...??

OMFG. Yes, clipping coupons, searching out the best deals, and holding rummage sales is the perfect example of one who lives in gluttony. Seriously Moneymaker? Are you just jealous because you can't do as good couponing? Are you an angry cashier who despises scanning coupons?

Lena - HAHA! Thank you! You made my day! Smile
