August 4th, 2014 at 01:25 pm

*ETA - I realized about a week after I posted this I had neglected to include my HSA! That is $10K more to my networth! So here are the correct numbers. Smile

August 2014 Savings Update

Regular Savings:
Capitol 360 Savings $18,050.00
Local Savings $1,3010.00
HSA $10,800.00
Total Regular Savings = $30,160.00

Retirement Savings:
Roth IRA $9845
Rollover IRA $820
401K $36,875.00
Total Retirement Savings = $47,540.00

Total Savings $66,900.00

Estimated Home Equity $234,000-$168,500 = $65,500.00

Net Worth
Regular Savings $30,160.00
Retirement $47,540.00
Home Equity $65,500.00
Total Net Worth = $143,200.00

Hard and sad to see my numbers drop by 50%, however very happy to say that after losing half of my assets I am still over $100K in networth!

You are going to do great! And to still have a net worth of over $100K at age 30, you are ahead of many.

You're doing great! After my divorce, I had about $4K, and that was gone pretty fast. Keep up the good work.

Considering all circumstances, those are terrific figures. Did I miss confirmation you received all the keys and garage door opener? Have you considered bringing in a roomie? It would help reduce mortgage and utility costs. In the past we've hosted foreign, university students who come in their gap year to immerse in English language and western culture. I suggest this as they are typically exceedingly polite, respectful, want to be helpful, grateful for any bit of attention, come from wealthy families and are never ever late paying rent. The downside is you really need to listen as while their grammar is impeccable, pronunciation is dicy. 2nd they are naive and unsophisticated by N American standards. They cook foods you likely never heard of. ?

    ...just random ideas going forward

What do you see as your next point of focus? I ask because it really helps to continue to look forward. You've so many terrific things going. Will you continue FB sales? Are there any items in your home that you no longer use, need, ready to sell on Kijiji or CraigsList as part of a de-clutter project ? Are you still interested in losing weight [listed on side bar]?

snafu - Yes I have the garage door opener and keys back. YEAH! I have had 2 potential roomates, but neither one panned out. So still working on that.

Right now my main focus will be the big rummage sale we are having at the beginning of September. Once that is over with I will continue with FB sales. And yes, as a woman, I am always interested in losing weight...lol. BF and I actually have a lil bet going as he has a wedding in a few weeks and wanted to lose a few before then...but I have been doing terrible. However yesterday I impressed myself because I really wanted Taco Bell and instead saved money and calories by making myself some oatmeal.
