New House!

September 9th, 2015 at 04:06 am

Here are the details for the new house and new home loan...I would put up pics if that ever starts working again....

The house is 3600 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office, a canning room, separate laundry room, 2 stall garage, huge fenced backyard with gazebo and hot tub. I love it! It does (like any house) have some things we would like to change, but nothing that needs to be done immediately, Unfortunately the seller left it a mess (what's new?!) so we do need to do some extensive cleaning before we move in, and since this week is the BIG rummage sale, it will have to wait another week.

The renters for MO's house have signed the lease and will be paying their deposit on Friday, we have already set up a separate savings account for that money to sit in.

We won't have to make a payment on the new mortgage until 11/1, so that will be nice to have a little extra cash flow for October.

The house appraised at $275K, we paid $270K (My Dad says it is a $300K house, but he isn't an appraiser, lol)....after down payment and closing costs, our new loan is $256,500.00. We have a 30 yr loan at 4.125% and our monthly payment is $1668.16. We were expecting our payment to be $1700+ so this was good news! PMI is $89.78 so I can't wait to get rid of that, of course we have other fish to fry first!

Can't wait to move in!

LOL LuckyRobin, canning room is just a room that is narrow and lined completely with shelves so you can put your homemade canning jars in there to store. I myself do not can, or make any kind of homemade preserves etc, so I plan to use mine for my rummage sale goods. Once I have it set up, them people can come shop!

So you guys have your new house, your old house (rental), his old house (rental), and the lake cabin (vacation home?) That is awesome.

Oh, a canning pantry. Yeah, I want one of those. The shelves are generally specifically designed for canning jar heights, so space isn't wasted. I thought mayve it was a room in which canning was done, maybe with it's own separate stove and prep tables or something.

Lucky Robin and debthaven, yes sorry maybe pantry is a better word......but there is an "everyday" pantry, to keep all your boxed food, canned food etc, off of the kitchen so I guess I was thinking of that as the pantry and the other room as a canning pantry...lol....I think we are on the same page now!

Lena - The lake cabin is in his grandmother's name, and he has been told by her and other relatives that it will be either given to him in the future, or willed to him if she passes away, but I guess we shall see on that. After the last few years I have had, I am not one to count my chickens before they hatch! But yes, we do now have our new house, and the 2 old houses as rentals, and the lake cabin as a vaca spot however not "owned" by us. Now that the BIG rummage sale is over, we only have 2 weeks to get everything out of MO's old house and into the new house before the renters move in on Oct 1!
