So, how do you make it work? I find if I try to sell on Craigslist or FB, the making appointments then dealing with the no-shows gets to be overwhelming. Do you schedule individual pick ups?

I live in a small town (about 3000 people) and there are a few other small towns within about 15 mins, so probably less then 10,000 in the community. It works really well for me because I work from home, so I usually just tell people they can come at anytime as long as they message me first just to make sure I am home. That way if they don't show up it's no problem because I am at home and working, so if they don't come I wasn't wasting any time waiting for them or meeting them somewhere. I do occasionally have people forget or not show at all, I usually give them a chance to reschedule because I know things come up or people spaceout and forget. Previously when I met people for sales it was very frustrating when people didn't show up, this is so much better! Since I sell so much, as soon as someone confirms they want to purchase I write their name, the item(s) they are purchasing and their total on a piece of paper (I recycle my expired CVS coupons for this) I then put their items in a bag and staple the piece of paper to the outside. I have a hutch in my entryway and I place the bag inside the hutch so that my entryway stays clear of clutter and then when they come to pickup I just ask them their name and pull out their bag. I pull the paper off of the bag and put the money and the paper in a little check box until I log my sales, that way I know what the money was for and who I sold to. This also works great as if I am busy or not home but MO is, he can give them their items too without any confusion over price, etc.
