First Small Town Rummage Sale Breakdown! Part 1

November 23rd, 2016 at 09:36 pm

We had our first small town rummage sale a few weeks ago the weekend of 9/23/16. It wasn't anything like the "BIG" sales we had in my previous town, but that was to be expected as we only have about 3000 residents here, plus the "BIG" sales are more like a city wide event in my old town, not just a normal garage sale. Plus we had cold, windy and rainy weather so only did the sale Friday and Saturday. We didn't open on Sunday at all. Also I didn't do any snacks at all and last year at the "Big One" I made over $1000 just on snacks so that made a huge difference too. Still happy with how we did, especially considering how much I sell on FB every week!

My Mom also had another rummage sale the next weekend while Mo and I were on vacation. I will be working on that breakdown next.

Here is the breakdown:
$94.00 MO misc. items from the house/garage that were no longer needed (clothes, household items, etc.)

Super great deal on the new Apple Watch!

November 22nd, 2016 at 04:04 pm

My employer is very focused on wellness (as you saw from my last post they give us $200 a year to use for ourselves for wellness items like gym memberships or workout equipment). During our open enrollment for insurance this year we were given the option to purchase an Apple Nike Watch, they paid a large portion of it (I can't remember the exact amount) and then the remaining balance (I believe it was $130) is at 0% interest and deducted from our paycheck for only $10 a pay period! What a great deal!!! I got my watch yesterday and have been having fun trying it out and learning some of the features. I haven't used it for running yet and probably won't have a chance to do so until after Thanksgiving since we are hosting, but hopefully this weekend I can go for a run and see what this baby can do!!!

$200 FREE Wellness Reimbursment

November 20th, 2016 at 07:29 pm

MO and I went to town yesterday to run a bunch of errands and had a very productive day!

First we went to Lowes and got blinds for our bathroom (for the last year we have been living with a tension rod with a towel hanging over it...) as well as some lightbulbs for the basement. We had $75 in gift cards from last Christmas for Lowes so that covered all but about $30 of the bill. MO put the blinds up as soon as we got home and they look great!!

Next we hit the thrift store as we are both in need of some new pants. I found a pair of "like new" Maurice's Jeans for $10! This retail for $60+ so I was excited! MO didn't find any pants, but he did find some very nice shoes for work for $10 which was also a great deal!

Then we went to Scheel's as my work offers $200 per year for wellness that you can purchase wellness items and submit for reimbursement. We already have a treadmill and an elliptical and didn't really need anything but didn't want to waste the free $200, so w got a punching bag set that includes a set of gloves, a pullup bar, ab wheel, perfect pushup handle, 3 set of kettlebells, which left $14 remaining, so I grabbed a $14.99 resistance band. That's a lot of Free loot!!!! While we were there we also got one of my Bros BD and Christmas presents.

Then we stopped at Barnes and Noble there is a THM cookbook I wanted and I had $15 in gift cards for there so I used that and paid the $15 balance OOP.

Finally went and got BD and Christmas gifts for my niece and nephew so they are done for Christmas. I think I have about 30% of my gifts done.

Ended with my nieces BD party and some family time, very good and relatively cheap day between the gift cards and wellness reimbursement!

Today we are relaxing with football and getting some more laundry/cleaning done before Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

$20K Update

November 14th, 2016 at 05:04 pm

We took another trip to Vegas at the beginning of Nov and our luck finally ran out! We didn't come home ahead this time but still had a lot of fun. We also secured Diamond status on our Players Card so will have the free flights, food, hotel rooms, etc. for 2017 as well as our resort fees waived. MO started coaching basketball today, so we wont have any more casino or vaca until March.

We unpacked the last 10 boxes or so from our move last Sept.  So now we are completely 100% unpacked, no more misc boxes of junk!

Still working lots of OT and between that and getting cleaning done for hosting Thanksgiving next week I am staying very busy.
