Debt Update

July 14th, 2015 at 02:00 pm

Whoo hoo down $2878.48 in just 2 weeks of paying down debt! The last $6K from my Mom cleared so we applied that to the Ring. So now the only bad interest we have is the Ring, about $3K at 9.99%. If all goes well with the closing of the new house, we hope to have the ring completely paid off by New Years!

P.S. I tried to use Paint as suggested, but I think I was missing something.....I got the spreadsheet pasted into Paint, but then couldn't really figure out where to go from there....the "crop" button was greyed out so I couldn't use it.

P.P.S The starting total/date doesn't look right because I put in my starting mortgage total....but I put in the date that DF and I started paying down debt together....how should I put it to make it look right and not like we paid off $100K in a few weeks...lol. Change the date or change the starting amount of my mortgage to the amount it was on 6/19/15? I am leaning towards amount and just personally knowing that it started a lot higher then that.

    Great job!

Any chance there will be enough cash left in your savings after the closing to pay off the ring? I would really want that one out of the way, especially with the meager rate the savings earn.

Thanks Another Reader! Yes we are hoping (fingers crossed) that after closing we will have about $5K or so left in savings, so we could get the ring paid off right away. I just don't want to put anything extra against it just yet, in case closing costs are higher then expected.

Also we have a few prospective renters for DFs house (which of course we can't rent till we close on the new house) so that is good news, and the sooner we get someone in there the faster we can pay down!

Click on the square looking thing ("select" tool?) next to the crop button. Select the part of the photo that you want to crop and then you will be able to use the "crop" button.

That is the best I can describe it. The person who explained it to me was much more clear. Big Grin
From there, save it as a .jpg. You got that far, so I know you can do it!

MM is right-there is a step to do before you can crop and that is selecting what it is you want. Place the cursor in the corner and draw the borders in then crop.

Is it too soon to talk about moving? I suggest going room by room, every shelf, drawer, cupboard to decide what will move to the new house and what will be sold, re-gifted, donated and trashed. It's helpful to develop a criteria so that each item retained is in working condition, loved, used regularly [unless seasonal or specific holiday], serves you/DF. It helps to know which charities pick up in your current district.

MM and Kiki - Ok I will look at it again, thanks for the tips!

Snafu - I have been purging like crazy. I cleaned out the desk at MY house, I did rummage sale, recycling, garbage and keep. I cleaned out my entire desk (so I can sell it) and managed to fit everything that was in/on the desk into one small orange box. Was pretty proud of myself for getting rid of so much junk!
