$200 FREE Wellness Reimbursment

November 20th, 2016 at 07:29 pm

MO and I went to town yesterday to run a bunch of errands and had a very productive day!

First we went to Lowes and got blinds for our bathroom (for the last year we have been living with a tension rod with a towel hanging over it...) as well as some lightbulbs for the basement. We had $75 in gift cards from last Christmas for Lowes so that covered all but about $30 of the bill. MO put the blinds up as soon as we got home and they look great!!

Next we hit the thrift store as we are both in need of some new pants. I found a pair of "like new" Maurice's Jeans for $10! This retail for $60+ so I was excited! MO didn't find any pants, but he did find some very nice shoes for work for $10 which was also a great deal!

Then we went to Scheel's as my work offers $200 per year for wellness that you can purchase wellness items and submit for reimbursement. We already have a treadmill and an elliptical and didn't really need anything but didn't want to waste the free $200, so w got a punching bag set that includes a set of gloves, a pullup bar, ab wheel, perfect pushup handle, 3 set of kettlebells, which left $14 remaining, so I grabbed a $14.99 resistance band. That's a lot of Free loot!!!! While we were there we also got one of my Bros BD and Christmas presents.

Then we stopped at Barnes and Noble there is a THM cookbook I wanted and I had $15 in gift cards for there so I used that and paid the $15 balance OOP.

Finally went and got BD and Christmas gifts for my niece and nephew so they are done for Christmas. I think I have about 30% of my gifts done.

Ended with my nieces BD party and some family time, very good and relatively cheap day between the gift cards and wellness reimbursement!

Today we are relaxing with football and getting some more laundry/cleaning done before Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Thanks to a LOT of help from the hubby, got all the Christmas stuff up including the tree! All that is left is the outside (have a few little lighted trees and a penguin guy to stick in the front yard). Plus got the 2 presents that I have on hand wrapped and under the tree, and organized all of the Christmas wrap scraps and bags again. While I was going through the Christmas wrap I found a pile of BD, wedding and baby cards in one of the Christmas bags, so moved those to the rest of the card pile.

I have been working slowly on the "study". Can't see a ton of progress yet, but I have cleaned out several binders of old checking statements, got those all shredded and disposed of. Also filled a whole garbage bag already with misc junk and papers. Hope to see some "real" progress soon! Now that all the Christmas is up and good to go, I can redirect my focus to that organization.

Going to eat for by bro's BD dinner tonight so that will be nice. Smile

Christmas Shopping 2010

October 23rd, 2010 at 05:12 am

Wow it is that time again! This year has flown by!
Time to plan out the gifts....

Husband - I know what I am getting him, but it is a big surprise and don't want to post it just in case he happens to read my blog.....unlikely, but just in case! Smile
Mom - She said she wants a $250 photo scanner thingy....we usually spend about $20 - $30 a person, so I am thinking maybe I will give her a gift card to put towards that?
Dad - Don't know......as usual
Brother #1 - Two games for his Wii, $30
Brother #2 - Hmmmm......
Sister-in-Law - Twightlight movie, $17
Uncle - Something Steelers
Cousin - I should be able to just walk around Target and find something she would like
MIL, FIL, SIL #2 and DH's Grandma - DH is in charge of, but probably $20-$30 a piece.

I am not buying for friends this year, last year it was hard to get together and it didn't seem very important in the end. But I do have one new person to buy for which is my Godson! He should be easy of course since he will only be 6 months then and anything he can drool on should work. Smile

Cousin - DONE! Book from Barnes and Noble.com, I bought a used version that said status "new" and used a GC that I had won at work, total cost $6.74, plus a Dr. Scholls "Love my Sole" pack $8.67.

Friend #1 - DONE! Book from B&N again, and used another GC, total cost $11.07

Friend #2 - DONE! Book from Target on sale $9.84

Friend #3 - DONE! DVD $5

MIL - DONE! Season of Ally Mcbeal $30

FIL - DONE! Sweater $25

Total Christmas Budget = $400.00
$342 spent on 15 people!

So I came in $58 under budget, but this does not include presents for me, and we usually spend about $100 a piece on each other. Overall I am happy with that though...and just soooo happy to be done! Smile

My husband had Friday off from work. He went shopping for himself for some much needed jeans. Here is how he did:
-2 pairs of jeans
Reg $30.00 - on sale for $14.99 a piece!
