Debt Update - 8/2/19

August 9th, 2019 at 01:22 pm

This update is a whole week late, but I have been swamped and am just squeezing in a few minutes to get it posted. I have been covering for a coworker who is out and it's been totally nuts.....unfortunately that also coincided with the first week with the new baby puppy! And since I work from home it's been a tornado around here! She is our 3rd girl and she is adjusting really well, but no matter how good they are, puppies are a lot of work! Love her to pieces already and our 2 other girls are having fun playing with her.

One of my softball teams won a state championship and one of MO's teams won a roughrider championship (consolation bracket champ)! This is my 2nd state championship and it was very exciting!

We have been doing good with cash flowing some bigger expenses even though we did have to take some money out of savings for medical/dental bills and also for the new puppy. Will have more bills coming up for her when it is time for her to get spade.

We are also really making it our mission to get the debt below the next $1000 mark every 2 weeks, so we threw another extra $200 on Rental #1's mortgage this time. MO has always been on board with paying off the debt, but I really see his interest peek when he gets to go in and pays an extra couple hundred dollars and actually sees the balance go down right at that moment when he gets his receipt. It helps him a lot to visually see that progress instead of just a "never ending" amortization spreadsheet.

Savings is at $15,300. We do have some cash "savings" that isn't accounted for anywhere right now. That may go towards rental updates or may go into savings.

Now that our old renter has moved out of Rental #2 and the new renter has moved in I sent off the return deposit plus interest. To simplify things I just paid the deposit out of our checking account and moved the interest into the Mom Loan account.

Also added in the monthly interest from Cap360.
