I have been stalking up on Sports Drinks since they seem to have much better sale prices in the summer for these and we drink a lot of them with softball, volleyball, basketball etc. If we don't have any at home that we got on sale then we just drink water...we DO NOT pay more then $1 for them!
I got 15 Powerades for $10 at Cashwise Foods(.67 each.) Also got 5 Gatorades at CVS for .88 each.
(Some of my free candy bars are also in the pic.)

Sometimes if I need to "borrow" from savings I just keep track of it on my own and pay it back asap without updating it on here. But once it starts to get to be too much to easily pay back then I need to update it to keep myself honest and my totals correct. I had actually borrowed $800 more then this, but was able to put $800 back already. $25K was short lived, but I know once school starts we will really be able to go up a lot again.
Current Balance $25,005.00

Sorry I am posting this deal too late, I just didn't have time to get on here this week. At CVS the coupon machine was printing off coupons for $1 off 2 Mars Candy Bars. Mars Candy Bars were on sale for 2 for $1 this week. So that means 2 free candy bars! My Mom realized that this coupon was printing out everyday! So I used my card and my DH card on 4 different days this week and ended up with 16 FREE candy bars!! WHOOHOO!!

Balance $125,300.00
+$287.15 Interest
+$319.07 Escrow
-$1537.95 Regular Payment
-$368.27 Principle Payment($40 change)
New Balance $124,000.00
Yeah back under $125K!! I'm going to try to increase my principle reducuction each month by $10. Last month we went down $1250. This month our principle reduction is $1300, so next month I will try for $1310, then $1320 etc. That way I will feel like I am getting to go down a little more without taking funds from savings.

Before we went on our cruise I took a bunch of cards out of my wallet so I wouldn't have to worry about losing them when I was out of the country. Now when I came back I can not find my HSA card anywhere. I've been looking for about a week. I'm sure it's around here somewhere and will turn up sooner then later, but we need to pay DH's bills from his leg injury (bills have finally started coming in) so I had to call and get a replacement one and they charged me $5 for that....booo! My fault and I feel stupid cause I bet it will turn up before that new one even gets here....blah.....

I was hoping to finish my closet this weekend, but I spent too much time getting sunburnt at the river...lol. All that I have left is my tshirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, sweatpants and socks. Then I can finally move on to my dressers.
Here is what I ended up with so far from my closet:
-------------Keep---Sell-----------------------------
Tanktops------96-----12------------------------------
Shirts--------61-----23------------------------------
Shorts--------41------7------------------------------
Skirts--------21------1------------------------------
Jeans---------12------1------------------------------
Khakis---------2------3------------------------------
Dress Pants---11------2------------------------------
Dress Tops----36------2------------------------------
Dresses-------11------2------------------------------
Belts---------6-------4------------------------------
Totals--------297-----57-----------------------------
Also DH has been working on his sports room which can get some misc stuff piled up in it from time to time. He brought a bunch of random art supplies up for me to mark for the rummage sale and also cleaned out the fridge, so that was a nice surprise!!

I used my $10 coupon that I got in the mail from Shoe Carnival. I found a pair of cute silver sequin little girl shoes on clearance for $10, so I took them up to the counter to get them for FREE! I was very happy with my find, and then the cashier told me the clearance was an extra 50% off! So the shoes were only $5! So I hurried back and grabbed another pair...got 2 pairs of shoes ($24.99 each - reg price) for FREE!!! AWESOME!
I marked them for $7 each for the rummage sale.
*ETA - Sold both for $7.00 each at 9/7/12 rummage sale = $14.00 profit

Our Target recently remodeled and added a much larger produce section. I got another FREE coupon in the mail today. This one was for a FREE 24oz Market Pantry Sandwich Bread. I have previously gotten a free 2 liter Pepsi product coupon and a free dozen large eggs coupon. I hope they keep sending them!
I also got a $10 off coupon from Shoe Carnival. There is no minimum purchase, so I will try to find some shoes on clearance for around $10, or if not just get some socks as I don't need any new shoes.

My car had been doing this horrible jerking. It would jerk so hard when I backed up that I would think I hit something! Kept giving me a heartattack...and my check engine light came on. So I took it in today and was worried it was my transmission and that it wouldn't be worth it to fix if it was over $1K in repairs. (I drive a 2002 Malibu...I bought it for $4K in 2008 and it is almost to 150K miles.)
But YEAH for me the repair man called and it was just a wire (something about the intake air temperature sensor) and the repair is only $136! Whoo hoo! I was really worried that my car would be done so I am very excited to keep on rolling with this car!

Went through my shorts, skirts, jeans, khakis, dress pants and hanging dress shirts. Making progress little by little! Can't wait to get done with my closet so I can move on to the drawers in my room. The sheer amount of stuff we are going to have for the rummage sale is insane. But this project makes me happy and gives me a sense of accomplishment when I need a pick me up.
Here is what I ended up with so far
-------------Keep---Sell------------------------------
Tanktops------96-----12-------------------------------
Shirts--------61-----23-------------------------------
Shorts--------41------7-------------------------------
Skirts--------21------1-------------------------------
Jeans---------12------1-------------------------------
Khakis---------2------3-------------------------------
Dress Pants---11------2-------------------------------
Totals--------244-----49------------------------------
Oh I also organized my tupperware cupboard. I didn't get rid of anything in there, but just got it all organized so everything fits and everything has it's matching lid.

Last week I asked for opinions on if I should keep saving or put more towards the mortgage. I appreciate everyone's opinions so I could make a good decision. For now I decided to keep savings, mostly because my car has been acting up (taking it in on Wed) and we have so many home improvements/repairs that will need to be done in the next year or two. I will keep paying about $300 extra on the mortgage each month and maybe throw some extra now and then. But will mostly be focusing on savings still. Someday I will be comfortable putting all the extra towards the mortgage, just not there yet.

I don't think I mentioned on here but when we came home from our trips our central air was not working. It was blowing air, but not cold enough to keep our house cool. We suffered through it for a few weeks, but it's been in the 90's here so I finally had to call to get it repaired. I was happy to find out it only cost $127 and I am so comfortable now! Before I was miserable to even be in the house. Unfortunatley they told DH that both the central air and furnace would need to be replaced in the near future (a few months to a few years). They are both very old. So that was bad news, but at least we got a warning so we can watch for sales and save up for them.

I never seem to find sales or coupons for Skintimate Shave foam. I've tried to use generics, but they make my skin to dry and rough. I finally got some coupons for .55 off one, so I got as many as I could (found 4 coupons) and I think I did good.
The regular price at Target for one can is $2.44. But you can get the twin pack for $3.99 ($2.00 per can) plus I then used the (4) coupons I had for .55 off. So I got 8 cans for $13.76, only $1.72 per can! Saved $5.76! So now I will be set for a long time...lol.

I haven't cashed in my Discover Rewards for awhile. I checked my balance and had $188.00 available! So I used $45 to get a $50 CVS giftcard. I think I will see if DH wants to pick something for himself for some of the rest of the balance.
Also got my free Olympic Tshirt from Coke. I just entered my points a few days ago....That was fast!

I added a new catagory to my blog today. "Cleaning/Purging/Organizing"
Lately I have been spending a lot of time at a friends house that runs a very small daycare from home. The house is crazyness. Every inch is packed with toys, clothes, craft/art supplies and misc everything. It drives me NUTS when I am there cause I just want to organize the crap out of it....it's near hoarders status (without the dirtyness of it). So it has really got it in my head about organizing and having too much stuff. I normally do pretty good with purging things as I like to constantly be weeding out for the rummage sale and throw things away pretty quickly once their worth is gone. But I could always do better and have been feeling overwhelmed with the amount of stuff in our house lately. So I am going to try to go room by room, drawer by drawer, closet by closet to get rid of things, rediscover the forgotten, and organize and clean my home!
I actually tried to start this a few weeks ago, but I already know it's going to be a very long process as I want to do it right and completely. So I started with one of the fullest places in the house...My closet. I took all of my tank tops out of my closet and tried on every single one....then a few weeks later I did this with my nice shirts. Very exhausting!! Once I had gone through them all I folded them all neatly and put them back in color coded rows (DORK ALERT!). I already have a whole shelf cleared off just from doing those.
Here is what I ended up with so far
-------------Keep---Sell------------------------------
Tanktops------96-----12-------------------------------
Shirts--------61-----23-------------------------------
Totals-----157-----35--------------------------
Sick how much clothes I have...and that doesn't count the T-shirts, long sleeves, cardigans, hoodies, sweaters, or any of my hanging clothes..etc
So that is where I am at. Already have 35 items to get rid of at the next rummage sale.
Next I am going to tackle my shorts since it is hot as heck here and I need to see what I have to wear!

I haven't entered my coke rewards points online in a long time. I finally got around to entering them today and have 117 pts to spend. I also had a promo code and got a free Coca-Cola Olympic Games T-shirt. I didn't realize before that I could also enter the codes from Powerades, and we drink those a lot, so I will have to start entering those codes as well. If I'm gonna drink the stuff regardless I might as well get a little something back!
If you have coke points you want to enter for free or reduced products go to mycokerewards.com.

I am way behind on my Target/Menards/CVS posts since we had those vacations. Trying to get caught up.
Last week I had a coupon from Target for FREE Dozen Eggs...so I redeemed that.
Today I had a coupon for FREE Liter of Pepsi product and also a coupon for $2.00 off a $5.00 purchase of any Up and Up products.
So I got a 2 liter of Mt Dew, a box of 100 sandwich bags, and a box of 40 gallon storage bags, all for $5.50!
They recently remodeled my local Target and now have a lot more produce and groceries. Hopefully they keep sending out these great "FREE" coupons!
