$700 Win at the Casino!

August 27th, 2014 at 10:19 pm

BF and I and a few of his family members made an impromptu trip to the casino last night....and I came home $700 ahead! YEAH!

Normally I would stick that into savings or the mortgage, but since we are going on that trip to Laughlin in the beginning of October I will keep it aside for that and now I won't have to take any money out of savings for my gambling money, so unless I lose the bet and have to pay for food, I am going to have 5 free days in Laughlin! SCORE!

Eating out is crazy....any of the bills for food that are over $10 is cause it was me and BF eating together....and he pays for a lot of our meals (though I have been pushing to pay for more)...so we are eating out way too much. I challenged us to just eat out once a week in September, it will help our weight loss challenge, plus give us some cushion for the Laughlin trip. Hopefully we can help each other and pull it off! Smile Other then the eating out everything is ok with me for spending. Fuel bill is high since we were out of town so much. That should go down some now that all of the out of town "trips" are done, however since BF lives out of town my fuel bill will continue to be higher then I would like it to be....but it is definitely worth it to have my rock. Smile

I did have to go to the Dr and get almost $200 in RX on Friday for a surprise eye infection...but since that was paid for out of my HSA I am not counting that towards my monthly expenses.

Week One Weightloss Check-In

August 25th, 2014 at 08:20 pm

Only down 1 lb this week..shoot! Was down 2.5lbs at one time, but the weekend out of town for the Pat Benatar concert didn't help things with "grab what you can when you can" food and too many drinks in the diet. Oh well at least I am going in the right direction.

Me - Down 1 lb, .56% lost
BF - Even, 0% lost

Goal for the week, be down 3lbs total. NO SWEETS.
Limit drinking, continue ab workouts and add cardio.

It's official - I am a divorcee

August 21st, 2014 at 03:32 pm

Got the papers in the mail yesterday. I am no longer married.

I called the gym and got our memberships seperated and mine put onto my own CC and let X know he will need to do so as well. Also called my health insurance to find out what I need to do to have him removed. Will be doing that in about a week as X was picking his plan and I don't want him to have a lapse in coverage.

Last night I went through all of my files (back to 2004) and got out all of X's papers (CC bills that were only in his name, resumes, car titles, medical claims, etc.) and put them in a bag for him. Also got the last few items of his from the basement brought up and put in the garage. One of his friends is coming to pick it up tonight. I think that is everything physical out of the house now.

Other then a few things to still seperate (cell phones, Netflix, car insurance etc.) we are done. Contact should be extremely limited going forward.

$20K Update

August 19th, 2014 at 01:20 pm

Got a $12 rebate from UV Vodka that I submitted back in June. I tossed it in savings and added $3 to even it out. $15 more dollars towards my future! Smile

Current Balance $22,200.00
+$12.00 UV Rebate
+$3.00 Even Out Amount
Balance $22,215.00

Local Savings $1380.00
ING Savings $20,835.00
My Total Savings $22,215.00

Can we please be done with this....

August 19th, 2014 at 01:16 pm

Found out last night that XH never did stop messing around....even when he said he wanted to work things out and counseling sessions etc. I had accepted the fact that there were probably lots more incidences and girls that I didn't know about....and I was happy NOT knowing. Last night I accidentally found our more junk that I just really didn't want to know. Frown Sucks....BUT I think maybe FINALLY opened my eyes to realize this is not a good person making mistakes...this is a bad person....

Could not be more thankful for my BF right now who continually tells me he wants me to be happy and stop being hurt by someone that never deserved me. So lucky to have found him.

Looking to the future and feeling it will be BRIGHT!

Divorce Papers are filed

August 18th, 2014 at 09:04 pm

It somehow slipped my mind to post that I did file the divorce papers. Filed last week Wednesday (8/30/14). The cost was $80 which we paid jointly. When we turned the papers in the court clerk stated that there probably wouldn't be anything else to do, we will just get notice in the mail when we are divorced. Frown So sad how simple that is.... Cried like a fool on the way out of the court house and XH tried to comfort me a little but I was crying too hard for him to understand anything I was saying. Bad, bad day. Frown

Well anyways it is a relief to be done and the only sad punch in the gut left is the day I get that paper in the mail telling me I am no longer married. I do hope that I get that done and over with before the trip to Laughlin and can just enjoy my time and look forward and not backward.

Still have some items on the "To Do" list for the divorce, but as long as the house is done and the divorce papers are filed, I am good. Working on the other items though and after the BIG rummage sale at the beginning of September I will have lots more extra time to make sure all my bases are covered.

6 Week Weight Loss Challenge and FREE trip to Laughlin!!

August 18th, 2014 at 07:09 pm

BF is taking me to Laughlin! YEAH! I have never been there before and this is the first trip outside of the state for us together so I am very excited!

Best part is it's FREE! He got comped from a previous trip he took there and he got 2 free flights there and back, free room for 5 nights, free appetizer at one of the restaurants, and 2 free tickets to Larry the Cable Guy (random, LOL)! Our hotel has 2 pools and a private beach, FUN!

So the only thing to pay for is eating (we will do some nice dinners, but there is also a McDonalds and other cheap food options), drinks (free while you are gambling), gambling ($$$) and shopping (not planning on doing much of this, but maybe?!). We are flying out from a city 2 1/2 hrs away, so we will have gas there and back (which I have said I will pay for) as well.

BF and I would both like to lose some weight before the trip, so we decided to have a little bet. Whoever looses the highest percentage of weight is the winner...the loser pays for all of the meals while we are in Nevada. The contest starts today and ends 9/30/14. So I have 6 weeks! My goal is to loose 15 lbs which I think is reasonable if I work hard and stay focused.

My plan of action:
-Cardio outside or in the gym 4 days a week
-30 days Ab Challenge
-No sweets except for 4 brownies when I work the rummage sale (it's 4 days and unrealistic for me to sell brownies without sampling the products... Wink )
-No pop at home (except during rummage sale) and no pop when eating out. Try to get down to 1 can per day at work (currently at 2 per day).
-Only drinking for special occasions (weddings, parties, etc.), not when out for dinner/softball etc.
-Be vigilant on portion size
-Make good decisions when eating out
-Water, water, water!!!

I would really love to win....not just for the free meals on the trip, but just to feel a little better about myself. BF is ALWAYS very complimentary, but losing a little weight is always a great confidence booster so I am looking forward to it! Smile

New Glasses

August 11th, 2014 at 03:10 pm

I got new glasses at the end of July. I like to keep track of that on here, makes it really easy to see when I last got my eyewear. Smile

Lens $139.00
Frame $249.00
Standard Eye Exam $89.00
-$397.80 Insurance Payment
------------------------------
$79.20 My Costs

I paid the $79.20 out of my HSA.

Normally I try to keep the costs of the frames down so that I don't have to pay anything OOP, but the ones I picked out were a little spendy. Luckily I have over $10K in the HSA account so nothing OOP for me!

August Spending Tracking

August 11th, 2014 at 01:24 pm

I did awesome with my 2nd trip out of town for the month (I am out of town EVERY weekend this month!). I opted to not get a hotel room for state softball so had to drive up Saturday and Sunday, BUT I didn't spend a PENNY other then fuel! I brought my water, pop, snacks and lunch from home. Pretty proud of myself!

I am officially out of CVS Giftcards so I will be having some CVS spending, everything I got so far this month was free after EBs, so I will have EBs for future purchases, but for now I did spend some OOP.

Next weekend the out of town is going to DBF's town for a wedding, so should have very minimal costs there as I will be staying with DBF and eating at wedding, so no food or lodging costs, just fuel and then any money spent at the wedding for drinks or gifts (dollar dance, etc.). So shouldn't be too expensive of a weekend.

$20K Update - Deal on Pat Benatar Tickets!

August 8th, 2014 at 08:54 pm

BF and I, and his sister and her GF were all planning on going to a Pat Benatar concert at the end of August. Tickets were $40 reserved and $35 general admission. I was going to buy tickets for all 4 of us and the other 2 were paying me back for theirs. Well one of my coworkers ended up winning 2 tickets and she can't go so she said I could have them for free! Smile Sweet! I didn't feel right taking them from her for free, so I told her I would give her $20 a ticket for them, that way she makes $40 and I save $30 (they are general admission) by getting them from her instead of the venue! Didn't think there would be any way for me to save money on concert tickets, but I somehow found one!!

Tossed the $30 I saved into savings!

Current Balance $22,000.00
+$30.00 Savings on concert tickets
Balance $22,030.00

Local Savings $1310.00

So I think I am doing ok....the tracking of the money is definitely making me think twice when I wanna grab a snack or a quick bite to eat.(Hard to tell when you look at my tracking, but I swear it's helping!)

I am out of town again this weekend, this time for my state softball tournament. I elected to drive down and come back the same day (it's about 90 miles away) rather then getting a hotel room. We play Saturday and if we win will play again Sunday. So potentially could be a lot of driving, but would rather be at home and save the hotel money and get stuff done for the rummage sale, especially if we lose Saturday I don't want to have a hotel room for no reason. I am planning on eating breakfast at home before I go and packing a lunch bag to eat lunch after the game. If my team goes out to eat after the game I may join them for comradery, but not sure yet, as some are drving back and some are staying in a hotel, and some staying with relatives, so we may all disperse after the game anyways. So other then fuel, I shouldn't have any costs for the trip. I will bring water with in a cooler.

Got the garage cleaned out and other randoms

August 7th, 2014 at 07:02 pm

My mom and I cleaned out the garage yesterday. Ended up with quite a large pile of stuff for XH, he is coming today to pick-up.

So that is good, the garage is ready now for the BIG rummage sale and another baby step towards everything done with XH. I thought he only had a few things in there, so I am glad we cleaned it good cause I didn't realize he had so much stuff out there.

I am constantly on the move right now, even busier then before. Between work, OT, 2 nights a week of softball, getting ready for the rummage sale, and dating someone that lives an hr away, I never have a second to sit down!
However I do think staying this busy is helping me a lot so I don't have my mind wondering so much to the sad/mad parts.

A few more things I need to get done:
-Close HSBC Account
-Change Midcontinent to auto pay on my CC
-Register my new Discover Card for an online account
-Change the checking account my Chase card pays from
-Pay XH's medical bill (this was already agreed by both of us that I would it out of the HSA account)
-Cancel the auto payments on XH's CC

$20K Update - Goal Met!!!

August 6th, 2014 at 02:21 pm

When they redid my mortgage loan they overestimated by $2644.04, so that amount was deposited in my checking account today. I transferred it to savings and BOOM I am over $20K! YEAH!

So now I need to make a plan of action. I will definitely be paying extra every month on the mortgage and I have a number of home improvements that I have been putting off for too long and I will need to make a priority list and start on those soon. Should be back with a goal/plan soon!

August Spending Tracking Update

August 5th, 2014 at 02:07 pm

It's only been 4 days, but with being out of town for 3 of those 4 I figured I better stay on top of my tracking so it doesn't get away from me.

8/1 Coke .75
8/1 A&B Pizza $4.98
8/1 Electric Bill $94.38

Out of town
8/1 Blackjack $50.00
8/2 Strawberry Pop $1.06
8/2 Gordmans $21.01
8/2 Scheel's Earplugs $3.21
8/2 Long Horn Steakhouse $49.37
8/2 Hotel Room/Fuel $100.00

8/3 - NO SPEND DAY!!
8/4 - NO SPEND DAY!!

Monthly total so far = $324.76 YIKES.

- The pop on 8/1 was because I forgot my cokes...I usually bring my cokes to work with me with my lunch, or sometimes keep a 12pk under my desk in case I forget, but neiter of those happened that day, so that was unfortunate cause the last time I bought pop I got them for .08 per can.

- The A&B Pizza on 8/1 was because someone STOLE my lunch from the fridge at work. YUP. ANGRY! On 7/31 I had a BOGO Free coupon for Pita Pit (which I never get cause it's too expensive, but since I had that awesome coupon I treated myself) so I got 2 pitas on 7/31 and ate one that day. I put the other one in the fridge at work at about 5pm, by 10am the next morning it was gone. I was sooooo looking forward to eating it too! So I do have some items in my drawer (oatmeal, Special K cereal bars, fruit cups, etc.) but after being excited to eat my Pita Pit I just wanted something delicious so opted for a taco salad instead.

- Gordmans I got $97 worth of merchandise for $21.01! It was nothing I NEEDED, but I haven't been shopping in IDK how long and we do not have a Gordmans where I live so I let loose a little. I got 5 items for $21.01 so very happy with my deals!

- Long Horn Steakhouse, BF never lets me pay for anything. This was only the 2nd meal he let me pay for in 6 weeks, and the other one was Taco Bell...lol. So this was well worth it to me. We do not have a Long Horn where I live and I had never been there. DELICIOUS! Highly recommend the parmesan crusted chicken! And my leftovers were my lunch yesterday and today so go a lot out of that meal!

- I wasn't sure what the plan was for the hotel room/fuel costs for the trip out of town. It was for BF's state softball tournament. We rode up with another player and also shared a room with them, which helped a lot with costs. BF told me later he had payed for 2/3rds of the costs for the room/fuel, so I feel obligated to pay for my 3rd of that. I haven't given him the money yet, so we will see if he will take it, but I already wrote out the check, so I am writing it down.

Should be able to have 2 more no spend days for today and tomorrow. I brought my cokes from home and leftovers for lunch. I will be going to CVS after work, but use my EBs and giftcards on that, so I don't count that towards spending.
