I hate to do this....but need to keep the numbers correct. I tried to stay ahead of the car repair bill, but just couldn't dodge that big of an extra bill.
Then the checking account was very low before we paid August mortgage and I should have not put as much extra towards principle as normal, and instead I put even more cause the call of $128K had me in a trance. So we were already short and then I paid the extra $600 to the mortgage...oh well at least it went to a good place.
And lastly.....we went on a little congrats to DH trip this weekend. It was very spur of the moment, but we wanted to do something fun for DH getting the head coaching job since his nights and weekends will be pretty much full until the end of October. So we spent $500 there too.
UGH - Down $1800 total, but I am hoping we will have that paid back to savings very quickly.
Current Balance $14,225.00
-$500.00 June car repair
-$800.00 To checking/mortgage principle
-$500.00 DH congrats trip
New Balance $12,425.00

Current Balance $14,220.00
-$112.00 to ROTH IRA
+$85.00 to retirement hold account
+$7.52 ING Interest
+$24.48 Even Out Amount
New Balance $14,225.00
ING $9765.00
Home Improvements(cash) $160.00
Cash $300.00
HSBC $4000.00
Total = $14,225.00
After all of that we only went up $5, lol.
I'm getting kind of tired of trying to stay ahead in the checking account....may have to take some out of savings soon to cover the $500 car repair from June...I have been trying to juggle to not take out of savings since then, but it is getting harder and harder and also confusing. I think I will give it another week or 2 to see if we can tough if out cause I HATE to take out of savings, but that is what it is there for, so if I need to use it I will.
Still deciding what to do with the coaching $$$.

Somehow my balance got a little off on my totals.
Here is what the numbers actually are now...I got off $30.00 somewhere.

HSBC $3965.00
Total = $14,080.00
Ok, and then here is the new update:
My Mom finally paid me for working at my parents rental, $139.50. So I transferred $35 to Anniversary Cruise to meet that goal, and $105 to my ING Home Improvements Account.
Current Balance $14,080.00

Current Balance $14,450.00

-$100.00 New Vacuum

ING $9710.00
Home Improvements(cash) $375.00
HSBC $3965.00
Total = $14,050.00
We finally got a VERY MUCH needed new vacuum and lawn mower. We got an electric lawn mower, hopefully that will also help save money since we don't have to buy gas now. We got the lawn mower at Menards, it was normally $399, on sale for $299. When I swiped my Menards card it gave me the option of 3% cash back or 12 months no interest, we took the 3% back since we already had the money in savings. So about $106 saved on the lawn mower. Dumb $14K is a thorn in my side

Trying my best to hold off on taking out of savings for the $500 car repair we had earlier this month. We also need to go buy a new lawn mower within the next week or so.
$14K seems to be a lot like $10K for us......just got very hung up on it for some reason....hoping to get over $15K by October.

My Dad helped me get some things ready today for potential flooding. I had to go get a new sump pump, a hose and several covers for our basement drains. I took $100 out of home improvement savings to help cover this. I am so STRESSED out! The not knowing what is going to happen is killing me. DH is going to move everything upstairs tomorrow while I am sandbagging for the city. My work will pay for me to volunteer, so I am going to be sandbagging for 8 hours and helping where I can. We are going to NV tomorrow night so my brother is going to watch our house. Hoping for the best.....

Well it had to be done, but still sad to see the savings go down by $1350. But our 0% on our washer and dryer expires in June, so needed to pay if off. We saved over $1100 in deferred interest by paying it off within the 6 month time frame.
The only thing we have left on 0% is our laptop, which is still on 0% until Dec 2011 and only has a balance of $400.

I was just looking back at my entries and one year ago today our $20K Challenge was at $7,660 - today we are at $14,000......so judging by that math we may reach our $20K goal by May 2012! That would be awesome! We do have 2 major trips planned next year, a family trip to Vegas in March for my little bros 21st BD and a cruise for our 5 year wedding anniversary. Between the 2 it could be up to $7K. But we are thinking about postponing the cruise for one year since we already have the Vegas trip. The Vegas trip will definitely be cheaper. Hmmm....we shall see, but very cool to know if we really stuck to our guns we could be there in a year!

DH got a check in the mail from his Dad for $100. He is so nice!! So DH decided to keep half for himself for "fun" money, and put the other $50 in the lawn mower fund.
