Although our total debt only went down $668.76 in the last two weeks, we had some great celebration marks! This is the 5th update in a row that we have went under the next $1000 mark for total debt! And our two smallest debts both went under the next $1000 mark, love seeing those numbers go down! I am pretty sure our streak of getting under the next $1000 mark will end at 5...we would have to go down $929.14 for the next update and I think it will be about $700, oh well it was a great run and maybe we will get a windfall and knock something down more!
We are in full rummage sale mode. My Mom came up and helped me sweep and spray out the garage, first time since we moved in last year that the garage has actually been cleaned out. We started getting tables organized and set up planned. We are planning on having it the weekend of Sept. 23rd. If you have read my blog at all you know our rummage sales are major events (last year we made over $8.8K at one, and most of our items are $1-$3....we move some SERIOUS inventory!). I am nervous as the town I live in now only has about 3000 people.....where I lived before I am sure more people came to the rummage sale then live in my whole town now! Hopefully all the planning, cleaning and marking is worth it.
I overdrew my checking account over the holiday weekend....I had deposited 3 rent checks totaling $2450.00 on my banks mobile app on 9/2, only one withdrawal was set up to go out for $350.00 and then when I checked my balance today I was overdrawn by $112 I checked the history and the deposits weren't there, I quickly realized the deposits had gone into my savings account rather then checking...apparently I fat fingered it. I called the bank and a 2 min convo fixed my $32 OD fee. I love my bank!
Celebrations for this update:
-Total debt went down $668.76 in the last 2 weeks!
-Mom Loan went under the next $1000 mark!
-Store Loan went under the next $1000 mark!
-Total debt went under the next $1000 mark!

Starting total was $587,351.27

We had our first night of fall coed on Monday night and we were paid everyone's fees, just missing $30 from one teammate who wasn't there that night. Once we get that we will toss that into savings as well. We also got rent from Rental #2 and put half of that into savings, the other half goes towards paying the mortgage for that house.
We have another $400 from the renter in our basement, but I think we are going to hang on to that for now as we have a large and in charge party next weekend at the cabin for an end of year softball jam for one of his men's teams and we will need money for booze and casino (food is already arranged). So rather then put it in savings now and taking it out next week I think we will just hang on to it and whatever we bring home can go into savings.

Disappointed with this! A big chunk of us going down is because we had to front the $420 roster fee for our coed team. We will get all of that back (minus the $30 a piece for MO and I) but for now we had to pay it ourselves. As we get paid from our teammates we will put the money back into savings. Other then that just mainly overspending on laziness of not cooking and grabbing snacks at convenience stores. Gotta get back on the stick!
I should be able to put a chunk into savings when I get paid on Friday, and we will have rent again next week.

This is the 4th update in a row that we have went under the next $1000 mark for total debt! YES! In addition we were actually just $30 away from going down a full $1000 in debt this update, so we threw an extra $35 at Rental #1 just to get over $1000 paid down this update.
My 3 nights a week of softball have finally ended for the summer and I am happy to have about 10-12 hrs a week back in my schedule! Fall coed softball starts in just a few weeks, but that will only be one night a week, and MO and I play on the same team so at least it is quality time! We are hoping to have a rummage sale in Sept, and that should help pull in some extra cash for savings.
Celebrations for this update:
-Total debt went down $1004.32 in the last 2 weeks!
-Rental #1 passed the next $1000 payoff mark!
-Our Mortgage passed the next $1000 payoff mark!
-Our Mortgage went under the next $1000 mark!
-Total debt went under the next $1000 mark!
-Total debt payoff passed $145K!

Whoo hoo, we are back over $5K! I don't think I ever want to be below that mark again in my life. It's just too stressful having savings that low. We have no plans to dip into savings except for a quick weekend trip to Vegas at the end of September, and we are pretty good at bringing home a good chunk of what we take with, so shouldn't be too much of a change (and hey maybe it will even go up!). So for the foreseeable months/years, I am hoping to just go up, up, up!

While I am happy that debt is consistently going down, I am falling into a very frustrated place with progress. Patience has never been a virtue of mine!
Currently we are only paying minimums on everything because our next goal is to pay off the Mom Loan (Currently at $26,800 so it's going to be a long, long, time), and we are going to do a lump payoff on that, the same way we did with the first Mom Loan. But things keep coming up (as they do in life!)...the cost of the new puppy plus new vet bills, we booked a short weekend trip to Vegas for the end of Sept since we cancelled the cruise we wanted to have some kind of vaca, repair on AC for one of the vehicles....just multiple $100+ bills. We have done a good job cutting back on eating out and casino (though there is always room for improvement there) and also reducing grocery bills and eating out of the pantry more. Hopefully those savings will start to reflect in our checking account soon. We are also going to change our 6 monthly savings deposits of $25 each ($25 to 2 different accounts everytime I get paid and $25 to 1 savings account everytime MO gets paid) to $50 each, which would be an additional $150 a month to saving (which would get us closer to paying off the Mom Loan). We also have $1000 a month from rent going to savings which is a lot, but it's only once a month so few and far between deposits. Hope everyone is having a great summer!
Celebrations for this update:
-Total debt went down $957.53 in the last 2 weeks!
-Race #1 (Rental #2) went under the next $1000 mark!
-Race #3 (Rental #1) went under the next $1000 mark!
-Next update will have Race #2 back to the starting point from moving things around.
-Total debt went under the next $1000 mark!
-Total debt payoff since we combined MO's debt with mine on 6/19/15 passed $50K!

Total = $534,270.19
Down $957.53 in the last 2 weeks!!

I have 3 cards and it printed out for me on 2 of my cards so I did the deal on both of those cards. Wow I can't believe how fast this summer is going! Living in the Midwest we wait so long for those summer months and then they always fly by so fast!
Things are good and busy. Pretty much the usual. I have been doing well on my 3 softball teams and that is super fun, but will be happy to have a few nights back when the season ends for sure!
We have been spending tons of time at the lake on the weekends, getting lots of outside time, swimming, using the and fishing. I even caught my first fish, a really nice walleye! Here is my view from the paddleboard this weekend, relaxing with my book and a beverage! Let me tell you I was acrobatic not to dunk my book or phone!

I have a garden this year for the first time in about 10 years. It is our first summer in our new house and I found out quickly the garden is too small! But our corn, 2 kinds of squash, and peas are coming in nicely. Carrots and watermelon don't seem to be doing too well. Next year I will be better prepared (I have no tools to plant this year and actually used a kitchen spoon to plant! All my gardening tools are still back in the shed at my old house.
Still no OT at my work. Going on 7 months now. I really hope that when the weather changes the OT comes back. Not only is the money extremely helpful, but we are currently working on items from 7/1/16.....20 days behind!
The next few weekends will be filled with several softball tournaments out of town. Hopefully we can keep our spending to a minimum for food, gas and lodging.
I started tracking every penny spent a few days ago. I haven't done that for a few years. I think it is already helping with reigning in spending.
Dietbets are going ok....I need to lose about 3 more lbs to win the next set. I think I have about 10 days to do that, so I need to make sure I continue to make smart choices. I started running outside as well as on the treadmill. Not far yet, but have to start somewhere!
Our new puppy is adjusting very well and the 2 dogs are best buddies already. Here is a pic of their first trip together to the lake. And a little snoozing pic.

I have no idea why this keeps loading upside down....I tried it like 4 times and it just wants to be difficult....

New puppy is adorable, but driving me insane. LOL. This is my first time having a puppy so I am leaning on MO a lot for learning how to potty train, name recognition, please stop chewing on EVERYTHING! Good thing she is super cute, cause this puppy Mom is losing her marbles! Other then that same old same old here. Busy busy bees!
