So since we had that "surprise" $2000 from the casino trip to put into the EF I decided to let DH decide what to do with my bonus from work. I will find out the exact amount tomorrow but I think it will be about $500 after taxes and 401K contributions. I told DH he can decide to put it wherever he wants....EF, remodel bathroom, future vacation, or buy a new laptop (his died a few months ago, so we have been sharing mine) were the options we talked about.
Last night he surprised me when he told me he had decided that we should set up a seperate ING account for Home Maintenance with my bonus.

Smart move, seeing in this month alone we have had to replace our sump pump ($250), after purchasing a new dishwasher ($400) and a retractable awning for our deck ($800). A nice healhty Home Maintenance/Repair fund would have been nice!

Your bonus would more than pay for a new laptop. I bought one for a freelance assignment (I really needed it...) on sale for $400 at Best Buy. I didn't think it would be that great, but it's actually quite great, full of features and still going strong 3 year later.
Of course, I only need it for writing and internet.

thriftorama - Yeah we looked at laptops at Best Buy and found some that were lower priced. He really only uses his lapop for interent usage so nothing fancy needed at all. Maybe we will use my next bonus for that. Thanks for the suggestion!
