MOH dress and oh my gosh time to hit the gym.....

September 27th, 2010 at 06:53 pm

This weekend I traveled to visit the bride to be in a wedding that I am the MOH in. We got her dress picked out and bought as well as the bridesmaids. My dress was $216.....I was prepared to pay up to $200, but it still was a bit of a shock, I guess I was really hoping for $100 - $150. Oh well, that was not the worst part......I am the MOH and there are 3 other BMs. Two of them ordered a size 0. Yup, you could add them together and they are still a size 0. My dress is a size 14. I am feeling pretty depressed about it. I don't feel like a size 14.....my measurements were bust 36.5, waist 33.5 and hips 41.5. Luckily the wedding is not till May 2011, so I have about 8 months to change that, but even if I kicked butt I would say the best I would hope for is a size 8-10. PUKE.
Ok, that is enough of my debbiedowner......here is a pic of the dress.

The color is a teal color on their color chart called oasis. At least it is chiffon and flowy so will hide my tummy. DH is helping me make a training routine to focus on my abs, arms and back. I am quitting pop on 10/1/10 so I have just a few more days and then it will be gone....no diet pop either, just done with it. Me and the gym are about to get real tight real quick. Wish me luck!

Oh also it was a very cheap weekend other then the dress so that was good. I stayed with my friend, so no hotel costs, and her parents paid for all of my meals for the weekend as well as drinks. So only the dress and one tank of gas were paid for by me.

Awwww... to tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a size 0 myself! I like my body *most* of the time - curves and all. I think I look good for little to no effort. That said, I think you'll start to feel much better cutting out soda and hitting the gym. I sure wish DH would do the same.

Very cute dress and you have plenty of time to tone the tummy! Smile

It's a beautiful dress. Don't worry about the size, your friend picked YOU as the MOH because of what you mean to her, not because of your dress size!

That is a great dress! If you lose too much weight you won't be able to fit it! Ha!
But, it never hurts to eat right and exercise. You will be buf in time for the wedding.
    Great motivator!

In my experience bridesmaids dresses run very small compared to regular clothes, so don't worry to much Smile

Seriously a size 0 is nothing to lust after. Who wants to look like a bag of bones? So unattractive. I'm sure you will be beautiful whatever size dress you wear.

Wow, that dress sounds like it is cut super small! My measurements are 39, 32, 42, and I normally wear a 12-14, depending on the brand. It's a pretty dress though!

Hey, I wanna stand up for size 0s. Not everyone who wears that size is super skinny. One can be curvy and size 0. Some people are just small. Wink
I agree the dress is nice. I looked at several of them from the viewer bar on top. That company seems to sell classic dresses.

Wow, thanks for all of the nice comments! You all are so sweet! I do agree it is a super cute dress and I am hoping once I get some toning going on I can rock it! Well DH and I made up a starting workout for this week and will review it each week to see what modifications need to be made. I am excited to get started!

I wish I could ever find dresses in size 0. I always have to buy them in a 1 or 2 and get them massively altered. I am really little and it sucks sometimes. Good luck with the fitness plan!

also have to add that giving up soda can ONLY be a good thing, for health and weightloss. it might be crappy at the start but you will probably notice you have a lot more energy after the initial sugar withdrawal.

OMGosh that dress is so cute. My MD is getting married next June. I have to send this to her right away! Good luck, 8-10 is great!! Some women are built to be size 0 and a lot are not. Do not worry about that.
