My goodness, that's like a mortgage payment! We had less than 45. I bought my candy in July and spent about $9. Leftovers will go to the lunch bags. How much do you spend?

Wow! I think I have had close to 50 before, but tonight...in a new neighborhood we had about 20.

We spent about $30. I got good deals on mini candy bars at CVS and Menards and used coupons. Then we get 2 giant (285 piece) bags of suckers. We give each kid 1 candy bar and 1 sucker, until we run our of candy bars, then they get 2 suckers each till we are out.

Tonight we had around 450 trick or treaters, which was down from the average of 530+ in the past 5 years. Thankfully it wasn't just one person treating - all the teachers/staff get together at one location and contribute candy.

391!? That leads to a pretty busy evening, that's for sure... I'm living in a part of the world without Hallowe'en at all (except for a few themed parties at bars, targeting American ex-pats), and I am surprised at how much I missed it. It was mainly because my kids are away at the moment, though, and I had no insurance of enjoying their enthusiasm for costumes and treats and all of that. Glad you had a good one, from the sounds of things!
    Jerry
