You identify your ever increasing cash savings as 'yipee' while I see it as lost opportunity with cash lying dormant, losing buying power while the DOW hits record highs. Forgive a repetitive message. Of course it's important to keep an EF but how much is enough with stable employment? If investment in yourself feels uncomfortable, you could significantly reduce the overall sum of interest as your mortgage silently punishes you as a new mortgage holder. What sum went to interest and what sum went to principal for your [1st] October mortgage payment?

    ok off the soap box

We all have certain levels of comfort regarding investments and everyone needs to celebrate their successes despite repetitive input from others. So I offer you my congratulations on a job well done! Yipee!
