Yes we are finally under $500K!!!

Normally MO would pay on his mortgage on this paycheck, but it is a 3 paycheck month so he paid some other bills associated with our rental being open for a month instead, and he will pay his mortgage with the last check of the month. I did some miscalculations as I was writing up my update while watching March Madness and apparently not paying attention so I thought we weren't going to get under $500K, so I paid an extra $250 on my mortgage. After I paid it I realized I hadn't updated the payment for our mortgage, and that we were already under $500K with out that extra payment....oops! Oh well so we paid $250 extra that we didn't need to right now, but it all has to get paid eventually!!

Things are going good here. We got away for the weekend and went to the casino with some friends and my Aunt Lori (shout out!), MO did great again, he has been so lucky this year! We will save the winners from there for our Laughlin trip in April.

I have a ton of medical apts, so those are keeping me busy as most of them are 5 hrs away from home, so I am putting in some major miles. We had to prepay a $4000 medical bill and also pay $4000 in Rx bills, so our HSA is now completely empty. I am sad to see that savings gone, but am happy I had saved it up for so many years so we had it to use now and didn't have to pay that $8000 OOP. Any new bills we will have to pay OOP, so we will keep trying to bulk up savings as best we can to stay on top of those bills.

I am so excited we have a renter!!!! They gave us the deposit yesterday and will be moving in March 1st!!!! We did lower the rent from $1250 to $1000 as the housing market here right now is very flooded with houses/apartments for sale/rent, so to stay competitive we needed to go down a bit. But that is still a good income for us as the mortgage on that house is only $500 per month.
This is such a huge relief!

We also got our federal tax refund, but we are only putting a tiny bit of it in savings for now as we are going on 3 mini vacations in the next few months, starting this weekend with a trip to Deadwood!

As if we didn't have enough going on financially with missing a renter and tons and tons of medical bills! Now we got notice from the lender on our personal mortgage that our monthly mortgage payment will be going up $70 a month due to underestimation of Escrow last year. Boooooo!!! That's a huge increase on a monthly bill! The increase is mainly due to our property taxes increasing. Such a bummer. Last year our payment went down $10, so I was hoping it would maybe going down a little bit this year too. Due the increase I am cancelling my monthly auto payment to savings of $10 for mortgage savings, so this is the last one as the new payment kicks in in March.

We had a family funeral this week and later in the week we took MO's Dad to the casino. He lost his father, and on top of that he is getting divorced so we wanted to get him out of the house for awhile. We also took two of MO's aunts out with us too.
