Back from Denver!

October 7th, 2015 at 12:57 am

I am back from vaca to Denver! We had a great time and got to see sooo much! The trip ended up being a group trip of 8 friends/family, with many more meeting us at the football game.

We went to the Vikings/Broncos game, Black Hawk Casinos, Dinosaur Ridge, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (AMAZING!), ghost town, and dinosaur museum. Everything went great and the people in Denver were so friendly. Smile We ate too much, drank too much and spent too much..... = Great Vacation! We spent time with MO's family, but also had a whole day alone as well which was wonderful. Smile

Now FINALLY after a year of craziness,(moving to a new town and work at home employee, getting engaged, getting married, finding a renter for my house, buying new house, finding renter for MO's house, trips to Las Vegas, Boston and Denver...all of these things occurred in only a 6 month time frame!), we may have some normalcy for awhile. We will be settling into our new home, enjoying hunting season, and getting ready for the holidays.

XH Reappears = Emotionally Exhausted

October 1st, 2015 at 04:02 pm

Sooooo...as you know if you read my blog, I got divorced last year after 7 years of marriage, 12 together total (XH wanted the divorce, I did not, I believe when you get married, you stay married, and you figure out your issues, not run away from them...Though now I am so happy that I did get divorced.) We had a LOT of problems, all stemming from his alcoholism (I am not a perfect spouse, but I was willing to work on and fix anything to save our marriage, he was very clear that he would never stop drinking). We divorced as amicably as you can considering it is a divorce and I did not want it, we had no children, we split everything evenly, no lawyers. Shortly after I got divorced I met, well re-met MO (My One) and we started dating, I moved to his town, got engaged, and last month got married. I have had very limited contact with XH. He still gets some mail at my old house (I have reminded him many times to change his address, he moved out in May 2014....so a year and a half ago.....ridiculous!) so I occasionally text him to pick up his mail, but other then that I never initiate contact with him.

He occasionally texts me something random, when he sees something that reminds him of me, etc. This occurs about once a month, and I either ignore the text completely or respond nicely (but platonically), and don't prolong the conversation, answering with few words and no more then 1 or 2 replys (unfortunately I have a very hard time ignoring people because I know how much it hurts my own feelings to be ignored). We are both always nice to each other in texts, but I end the convo quickly and don't "reminice" with him.

Now a few days ago he texted me:

"Soooooo I have something I need to tell you before you see it on FB"

My reply "Let me guess. You got your girlfriend prego."

"Wow you are good"

He then continues to text me several more times about how he was so surprised and yadda yadda yadda. Meanwhile I don't respond at all and go on to have a complete and total breakdown including crying till I puke. XH and I tried for 7 YEARS to get pregnant. I can't even start to count how many drs visits, tests, DOLLARS, tears, depression.....and after all the testing we were told very clearly XH IS THE PROBLEM, XH CANNOT EVER HAVE CHILDREN. His numbers were outrageously low for every sperm test. My tests all came back clear and good to go. That all occured after about 2 years of trying, after that he wouldn't talk to me AT ALL about trying invitro, donor sperm, adopting, etc. So for the remaining 5 years of our marriage I waited for him to be able to talk about it and find out if I would ever get to be a Mom....that obviously never happened. After we were in the process of getting divorced he told me "I guess I don't really believe in that other stuff (children from non natural conception)....REALLY?!?!? Well that would have been nice to tell your WIFE 5 years ago!! Or maybe before we got married!! UGH!!!!!! So now he dates some girl (who already has 4 children and lives on the other side of the US) and a few months later she is pregnant.....WTF. Let me be clear I am not upset that he is having a baby with someone else. I am upset #1 because if HE CAN have kids, it sure seems like I am the one that can't. Frown And #2 WHY IN THE HECK ARE YOU TEXTING ME ABOUT THIS??? I didn't text you when I moved to another city, I didn't text you when I got engaged, I didn't text you when I got married, I didn't text you when we bought a new house.....why not? Cause it's none of your business anymore and we don't need to know anything about each others lives! And he knows darn well how painful the baby topic is for me, so I guess he is just trying to be spiteful and hurt me.

So I have my mega breakdown, MO was not home, he was actually at my old house that we are renting out as we had coed softball that night so he went down to get some things done before our game. I get myself together and go down there, still not responding to any of the texts since the first one from XH. I go to softball and try to buck up, his life doesn't effect me so who the he!! cares. My parents come to the game, MO is on my team, and my super awesome BIL and SIL as well. At the end of the games I go get my phone out of my bag, and I have 5 missed texts, 3 missed calls and a VM from XH. The texts are things like "Bummed that you didn't respond" "Well hope life is good to you, I love you always" "I love you"... Frown The VM is a long, clearly drunk VM of "I love you's and I miss you's and everything will be ok" Well that is awesome. For the last 6 months of our marriage when I said "I love you", his response was "I know". NOW he wants to give me "I love yous" BULLSH!T So it was terrible, MO was obviously outraged as he should be if someone is telling HIS WIFE that they love her and miss her. I didn't respond to any of the texts or call him back. That was a few days ago and I havent heard a peep since. Most likely he doesn't remember as he was definitely drinking. So I am torn between sadness and anger. How dare he do that to me. I just got married, I clearly moved on with my life but he feels the need to bring me down. I really hoped that getting divorced would be the rock bottom he needed to get help for his alcoholism, clearly it wasn't. I talked to my Mom and she made a good point about how lucky I was that I didn't get pregnant with X as then I would have been doing that all alone too, and having to explain to my kids why Dad punches holes in the wall, and can't walk straight or slurs his words.....true true.

So there is my drama fest for awhile....I was so mad and upset about it I had to wait a few days to even post this. XH and I still have our car insurance together (since we were amicable with each other it didn't seem like a big deal to temporarily leave the vehicles together and continue getting the multi-car discount) but now I will move my insurance and apparently will need to block XH's phone number, which is not something that I wanted to do, but he obviously doesn't understand what is acceptable contact, which I should have known by now since that is another reason we got divorced....SIGH.

$20K Update - First rent check from MO's house!

October 1st, 2015 at 02:39 am

Whoo hoo we got the check for the first month of rent for MO's house! Since we don't have to pay the mortgage on the new house till November, this is all "bonus" money for us, so I put the whole thing in savings. We do have a lot of extra expenditures right now ($700 propane bill, $210 carpet cleaning) but I still think we can swing it.

I also got my first payment coupon for the new house, so I set up an account on their website and set up automatic payments so we don't have to worry about late fees or anything with that.

I also set up automatic payments from my checking account to my Mom's savings account to pay her the agreed $300 per month for the loan we are paying to her. The more things are automated the better!

We leave tomorrow for Denver YEAH!!

Debt Update - 9/18/15

September 22nd, 2015 at 08:27 pm

Things are going good here, still SUUUUPER busy.....maybe after Christmas things will slow down??

This last weekend we had a coed softball tournament, we took 4th place.....4 games in one day is getting to be too much for this lady! Our coed team is 6-0 for the season, so if we keep this up we should get 1st place!

We have just 6 more days to finish packing/moving our belongings to the new house. We have moved over a good chunk of furniture and lots of boxes already, but prob still 40% left to move. We are hoping to finish moving everything other then my office by 9/24. Since I work from home we can't move my office until my business internet connection is set up at the new house, which is scheduled for 9/25. We need to be completely done moving by 9/28 as that is when the carpet cleaners are coming to the old house, renters move in 10/1.

In October we will have $2650 coming in for rental income, but only $1450 in mortgage payments (we don't have to pay on the new house until Nov 1) so we will be putting $1250.00 into savings as soon as we get the rent check. We also have a lot of "new house" bills that we are dealing with (previous owner left propane tank on ZERO...$700, new fan for my office, light bulbs, cleaning supplies, etc.) but we are budgeting it all in as best we can and won't be adding anything to debt or having to take out of savings.

$20K Update - The BIG Rummage Sale

September 21st, 2015 at 02:57 pm

The BIG rummage sale was last weekend and as usual it was crazy! We had beautiful weather (after an initial rain shower) and a great turnout! I won't have the breakdown ready for awhile while we are working on moving (and next week going to Denver!) but I do have the totals. Rummage sale as a whole did $8800!! MO and I did $3080!! We made over $1000 just on snacks! So I will get the breakdown up as soon as I can, but since I already have the money I wanted to get that part squared away.

We made $3080, we round it up to $3100. We are putting $1100 into our savings and taking $1000 each as our spending money to Denver next week. That will cover food, drinks, gambling, tailgating costs, shopping, etc. Hotels, flights and rental car have already been paid for.
Anything we bring home will go into the Mom Loan Savings account.

Current Balance $6,645.00

$20K Update - I won a football pick-um!

September 18th, 2015 at 10:31 pm

MO signed us both up for a football pick game, I don't know anything about football so I was pretty sketical, but seemed like fun. It cost $85 per person for the whole season.

You pick the winners of every game for each week. Whoever has the most correct at the end of the week wins $70! (Bigger payouts at the end of the year). If a tie at the end of the week then whoever picks closest to the total score of the Monday night game wins. So I just randimely picked teams and somehow ended up winning! Smile SWEET! I put the $70 towards the "Mom pay back fund".

$20K Update - We have a signed lease and deposit check for one of the rentals!

September 17th, 2015 at 03:13 pm

MO got the lease signed and the deposit check for his place (where we are currently living). YEAH! So now we are working hard to get everything packed, moved and old house cleaned. We only have until about 9/28/15 as we are leaving for Denver to go watch the Vikings play the Broncos on 10/1/15. So far packing is going pretty well, I am trying to purge as much as I can as I pack, but since most of the items here are MO's (most of my stuff is still at my house except for clothes/toiletries) it is hard for me to sort as much as I would like. But getting rid of some is better then getting rid of none!

I opened a separate savings account with Cap360 for the $1250.00 deposit and we will count it towards our savings total, but we won't touch that money it will just sit there for the renter. The people we are renting to are a young couple with no pets and no kids and I am hoping they will be here for a long time.

Things continue to fall into place! Smile

New House!

September 9th, 2015 at 04:06 am

Here are the details for the new house and new home loan...I would put up pics if that ever starts working again....

The house is 3600 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office, a canning room, separate laundry room, 2 stall garage, huge fenced backyard with gazebo and hot tub. I love it! It does (like any house) have some things we would like to change, but nothing that needs to be done immediately, Unfortunately the seller left it a mess (what's new?!) so we do need to do some extensive cleaning before we move in, and since this week is the BIG rummage sale, it will have to wait another week.

The renters for MO's house have signed the lease and will be paying their deposit on Friday, we have already set up a separate savings account for that money to sit in.

We won't have to make a payment on the new mortgage until 11/1, so that will be nice to have a little extra cash flow for October.

The house appraised at $275K, we paid $270K (My Dad says it is a $300K house, but he isn't an appraiser, lol)....after down payment and closing costs, our new loan is $256,500.00. We have a 30 yr loan at 4.125% and our monthly payment is $1668.16. We were expecting our payment to be $1700+ so this was good news! PMI is $89.78 so I can't wait to get rid of that, of course we have other fish to fry first!

Can't wait to move in!

I'm married and we finally closed on the house!!

September 9th, 2015 at 03:05 am

Yeah I am married!!! Smile

On Wednesday right before I took off to the Lake for the wedding weekend, we closed on the new house. FINALLY! 1 more hr and they would have had to redo all of the paperwork with my new last name!

Wedding went without a hitch, we were expecting rain and thunderstorms all day, forecast said up to 90% chance of rain/thunderstorms. It stopped raining around 9am, and not a drop the rest of the day! It was overcast all day (which we were fine with as long as it wasn't raining) and then about 5 mins before the ceremony the sun came out and it was beautiful! Wonderful!!

Everyone had a great time, we had burgers (with cheese right in the patty), beer bacon and cheese brats, hotdogs, lots of different picnic salads, and cheesy hashbrowns. Adorable sunflower cupcakes and smores for dessert.

Then we had games set up (beanbags, horseshoes, volleyball, laddergolf, crochet, etc) for everyone to play on the beach followed by a bonfire. Volleyball was very popular and super fun! We are exhausted and happy come the end of the evening.

Since MO (My one!) and myself both already had our own homes and all the normal home items, we did not register for gifts, we did receive a few presents, but mostly cards with cash or giftcards, which will come in handy for furnishing and decorating our new home.

My Mom and myself were purusing the clearance at Target and found these awesome Covergirl Mascara 2pks.

There were 2 kinds:

I am not positive on the original price, I think around $12.00-$14.00 per 2pk. They were on clearance and then we had a $1.00 off coupon for each one, and we paid $3.97 per 2pk. We marked each pack for $8.00 each.

Lost the receipt so....hmmmm

$20K Update

August 27th, 2015 at 02:57 pm

My numbers may be a little bit off right now as the majority of my savings is in my checking account to pay for our down payment if we EVER get to close on this house! But here is my best estimate of where we are at for now.

Now the bank is telling us that closing is held up because they can't find a comparable home in the area to complete the appraisal. Frown

We also opened a new savings account together in the town where we live so we don't always have to wait till the next time we go somewhere to deposit cash.
We had a $200 check we received as a wedding gift that we put in there to start it out.

Test

Hmmm...nope, still not working. Has anyone heard anything on if they are working to get that fixed or if there is anything we can do individually to fix it?

Debt Update - 2 new zeros! New goal!

August 23rd, 2015 at 07:26 am

Well.....where to start!? Less then 2 weeks till the wedding! We are busting our butts to get everything done....my parents have offered to give us $500 to help with expenses so that is great, that will pretty much cover all of my clothing (dress, shoes, bra, undies, jeweled sash, and hair pins), so that is a huge help!

House Closing - STILL NOT DONE. The bank is being ridiculous....seriously every time we get them the giant pile of paperwork they asked for, then they ask for another big pile of paperwork. We have been working on this since mid June! They actually told us we needed to provide a signed and dated letter that said "Why we were moving down the street".....UM WHAT? We have to tell you WHY we are moving? So I typed a letter that said "I want a different house". So annoying! Lucky for the bank, DF has been handling 95% of dealing with them and he is less b*tchy then me...lol. But we are both pretty fed up. If this would have closed in a reasonable time frame, we could have been closed on the house 6 weeks before the wedding, and had time to get moved....as is we will probably close the week before or the week of the wedding, so we won't be able to work on moving, and the week after the wedding is the BIG rummage sale so we won't be able to move that week either, so instead of moving mid to late July, it will more likely be mid to late September! Grrr!

New Zeros - The bank also wanted us to make the numbers look a little better so they asked us to pay off the 2 cards we had balances on, David's Bridal ($400) and Ring - Iddeal ($2700). So we took money out of savings to pay those 2 off. It wasn't the way we wanted to do things, but it will be good to be rid of the ring payment ($213 per month). Yeah for 2 new zeros!!

New Goal - So now the next goal is paying off the loan from my Mom. Our payment is $300 per month, and interest is only 4%, so we should be able to pay it off relatively quickly, our goal is 1 year. Our plan is to just make our regular payments to her each month, and we will have a separate savings account that we will be putting any extra money into, once that savings account balance equals the balance we owe her, we will then make payment to her in full.

Update on Me

August 17th, 2015 at 02:29 pm

Hi All! I have been MIA lately, things are just nuts here and I can't keep up!

The wedding is in less then 3 weeks! There is still so much to do and I am super stressed out and having bad dreams about things not being done on time!

The house closing is STILL NOT DONE. We are extremely frustrated. We provided everything that is needed for the loan, then weeks and weeks later we were notified that they needed more, completely unnecessary paperwork! MAD! Example: We need a signed and dated letter that says why you want to move down the street. For real?!?! #1 - Why do you care? #2 - Why is that your business?? If I want to buy a new house, I shouldn't have to explain that to anyone?! Grrrr!

I have been trying super hard to lose some weight before the wedding (unfortunately when DF and I start dating and I finally felt happy again I gained a bunch of weight). I am pretty frustrated as I have been trying really hard and just not getting anywhere.....add to the stress of the wedding and house and I feel like I am losing my mind!

Oh and did I mention the BIG rummage sale is just 4 days after the wedding.....so I have no prep time....

Also I hurt my leg pretty badly in June at a softball tourney, thought it would get better on it's own, it hasn't, so I have been going to PT a few times a week as well.

And now my pictures won't load on my blog at all.....I use this camera and computer for lots of other sites (FB, etc.) where I am posting pics and don't have any problems so not sure why it wont work here.....

So there is my rant! Praying for mid September to get here so I can breathe for a minute!

Debt Update - 8/7/15

August 8th, 2015 at 03:19 pm

Here is my 2 week update! We are down $450.20 in 2 weeks, and $3784.28 since 6/19/15. My David's Bridal card went up a little bit as I had a few more items to buy for the wedding, but that one is at 0% until next June, so not worried about that one.

We are taking a trip to Denver in October to watch the Vikings play, it's my wedding present to DF.....unfortunatley as someone who isn't too interested in football....I had NO IDEA football tickets were so expensive! So next few updates might not be so good as I am funneling money to paying for the trip. Also still paying for wedding food, cake, and some other small items....and a $400 boat repair, and $150 vet bill...all kinds of NEW bills for me, who has never had a boat or a dog.....lol. All I can do is make sure we are at least going DOWN every update.

STILL WAITING ON THE HOUSE CLOSING!!

For whatever reason I can't load any pictures right now....so I will just list out the debts for this update.

Student Loan $0
Payback Savings $0
David's Bridal $400
Scheel's Card $0
Total Rewards $0

Total = $310,606.90

Starting total was $314,391.18, so we are down $3784.28 since 6/19/15.
